Sacrifice Tribute Book 1 edition by Kate Pearce Literature Fiction eBooks

Awaiting execution on a foreign planet, Anna Lee has nothing left to lose — until Commander Rehz Akran offers her a chance to escape her fate. Anything is better than death, but when her training for Akran’s mysterious mission begins, the brutality is hard to take . . . especially since Anna has no idea what the workouts, beatings, and endless sexual demands are preparing her for.
Rehz Akran doesn’t deal with failure. He’s determined that his last trainee will survive her immersion in an unimaginably alien world and return alive — even if it means she’ll hate him forever. He needs to stay detached, but his new recruit makes that impossible. Soon he’s willing to defy his own training for a chance to forge a true connection with Anna.
It’s Rehz’s job to teach Anna to survive as a Tribute. And if she does, it’s his task to help her overcome the trauma of the experience. But this time he isn’t doing it to save his planet. This time he’s doing it for love.

Ok, I really enjoyed this book. Very edgy like almost everything Kate Pearce writes. This other world she created for this series is brutal and it took a seriously creative mind to even think up this plot in my opinion. Even though it is quite a departure from the setting of her historical novels, this still feels like Kate Pearce's writing and I for one loved it. If you loved the Simply series, the Sinner's Club series, and the Triad series I suspect you will enjoy this also although there is a lot less consent in this book than you usually find in her work. I am looking forward to the next in this series.Product details

Sacrifice Tribute Book 1 edition by Kate Pearce Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I have to say that this was an intense book! Commander Rehz Akran offers Anna Lee a chance at life, die in prison or train for a mysterious mission and have a small chance at surviving. Anna Lee decides that a small chance is better than no chance but she sure did not know what she was in for! Her training is brutal and very intense, so readers be aware that this book has very dark scenes! I spent a good portion of this book not liking Rehz at all but as the story develops, the mystery was slowly revealed and I came to understand his methods. Anna Lee is one strong and intelligent woman who slowly wins Rehz's heart and that convinces him that he must do everything in his power to help her survive if he wants a chance at winning her love.
I will repeat that some of the training sessions in this story are very brutal but the intense storyline is so attention grabbing that I devoured this book in less than 2 days. With the mystery of the Tributes slowly revealed and understanding that Rehz's cruel techniques are all geared to the Tributes survival, readers will also come to sympathize with both the trainers and trainees. This is a well written story with unique characters that left me looking forward to the next book in this sci-fi series.

Think Hunger Games-meets-Alien-meets Elysium. The first 50% of this 125-page read consists of what is called “training” the remaining is the soul shattering reality of what is real.
Many will read Sacrifice solely for the sex (M/F, M/M and M/M/F) and that’s just fine. I however went into this read knowing nothing. Was a bit shocked and then became an invested reader. The emotional vulnerability of these characters is a heady thing. Sure the sexy bits do what they intend to do, titillate the darker erotica fan, but it’s the emotions that are introduced that will keep you coming back for more.
3.5 stars
It was intense and somewhat disturbing. I both liked and hated it at times. It made me uncomfortable in a yucky way. But then it also made me hot and bothered.
I got the second in the series, so it got me hooked. Characters were quite vivid.
A darker different read.
Full of triggers so reader beware.
I loved these the book revolves around a training camp for the sacrifices and the erotic tortures they go through. Criminals are plucked from prison and used by the trainers in extremely erotic ways to prepare them for an unknown trial they will face. Its not for everyone if sweet is your thing this is not it but if you want a great read that will melt your kindle this is it.
This book was filled with dark and erotic content. It was definitely not the norm for Kate Pearce, but it completely rocked. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars was my confusion on how Lee actually got to this planet and got arrested in the first place. It wasn't really clear even at the end of the book. Other than that, I was completely drawn into the storyline. The characters were great, and the plot was incredibly interesting.
What a weird book full of sexual deviant behavior. Anything sexual you can think of doing to a person who can't fight back pretty much covers it. Gang rape, oral, rectal, vaginal, public sexual humiliation, torture, sex aids and toys. Anna Lee is a condemed prisoner who is given a chance at avoiding her execution if she agrees to be trained for an unnamed task by Commander Rehz Akaran. My biggest complaint after all the sexual torture he subjects her in order to break her, is that she falls in love with him. I'd much prefer she tries to kill him as she was thinking of doing before he broke her, or failing in that, she wants nothing to do with him once she completes her task.I kept reading just to find out what she is being "trained" for as a Tribute since it wasn't to turn her into a sex slave. Any " romance" just didn't come across as believable. I'd like to see a woman stand up to her tormentor and just turn her back on him, not fall in love and want more from him.
Holy Moly! This story really pushed the edge of the envelope. Humanoid tributes are offered for "study" in exchange for peace with the tentacled aliens originally occupying the planet. The tributes undergo brutal physical and sexual training designed to prepare them for this ordeal and offer them a chance at surviving it. And, unbelievably, a love story is thrown in for good measure. It was disturbing and horrifying and...hot! I felt like a rubbernecking gawker at an accident. I shouldn't look (read) but I couldn't seem to stop. I loved it. I can't wait to see how things turn out in the next two books in the series.
